Episode 34: Vigilante Justice

Listen Later

UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was assassinated in broad daylight in the middle of New York City. Rather than decry a cold-blooded killing, Americans seemed to be indifferent at minimum, with many publicly praising the murderer, Luigi Mangione. Meanwhile, Daniel Penny, a man acquitted of killing an unarmed homeless man acting crazy on a New York City subway, was invited to watch the Army-Navy football game with President-elect Donald Trump. Aside from the obvious question of "WTF is going on in NYC?" the other question to ask is "If or when is vigilante justice okay?" This week, the gang gets into a heated exchange as not everyone agrees that taking matters into your own hands is a good thing.
