In this episode, Rachele gets real and straight to the point. (as if she has ever beaten around the bush in her lifetime). However, some recent student experiences brought this podcast to the forefront.
Dr. Burriesci has been in the Acute Care Setting for 14 years, she believes in the work that she does and she loves the setting. She believes PTs have a vital role in the acute care setting and can make a difference in a patient's recovery, length of stay, return to independence and education. She has been hearing and fighting against the stereotype for years and even had many students excited for their upcoming clinicals.
But what happens when the stereotypes exist and even worse what happens when they are pushed onto students as the standard of care?
TUNE IN for more, I promise this one is a bit spicy....
