Ruby struggles to hold herself and Edie together in the devastating aftermath of Frank’s death. As grief engulfs the household, Edie’s shock begins to surface, and Ruby’s own guilt turns inward with punishing force. Vi strides in with plans for the funeral—and with the crushing news that Ruby and Edie may soon have to leave the only refuge they’ve known. With no Douglas, no Frank, and no certainty about what comes next, Ruby must summon the strength to keep moving through a world that suddenly feels stripped bare.
