This week on the show we are traveling to southeast Asia for an Indonesian and Thai double feature with guys from small villages travelling to the big city and finding themselves over their heads.
The first is 2009’s Merantau, a story about a young guy on a spiritual(?) journey to Jakarta only to find himself in the middle of a human trafficking ring.
The we cover a crazy 2003 film from crazy Tony Jaa – Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior… another film with a small village guy in over his head in the big city, this time with our hero travelling to retrieve a sacred, historic village element.
Get ready for kicks, knees, and elbows galore!
