Hiatus.... What hiatus?? What I thought would be a 4 week break has turned into a pivotal time in our nation and culture. I've found myself researching, educating, weeping, angry, inspired, motivated, saddened at the state of the lives of BLACK PEOPLE. I couldn't sit still. I couldn't be quiet. It would be remise of me not to drop this episode on today, Juneteenth as we witness a shift in our voices and our fight. We have to do the work. Do it tired. Do it scared. Just Do It, period.
About our Guest: Erik Wilson is a teacher with Hampton City Schools. His passion for education comes from his desire to to service the youth in the community - the same community which was pivotal in his formal education. Mr. Wilson is a degree holder from both, Howard University and The Ohio State University.
Mr. Wilson provides us with a ton of literature in this episode, you may want to write those down. Knowledge is key.

So I Saw A Meme Segment: George Floyd isn't a wake up call. The same alarm has been ringing since 1619, y'all just keeping hitting snooze.
Seed of Lavender: Empathy
Affirmation: I will be the change I wish to see
**There is a FULL Juneteenth episode published last year on June 19, 2019: Episode 12: Juneteenth. I go in-depth with African American Studies Educator: Olivia Cochran and the history and timeline of Freedom Day. Feel free to revisit that episode as well** Each one, teach one
