After a night of celebrating the new year of 1998 in the Marlborough Sounds in New Zealand, Ben Smart and Olivia Hope were offered a place to crash for the night by a stranger they met on a water taxi. The three were dropped off at the man’s sailboat, and unfortunately Ben and Olivia were never seen again. Investigators claimed this unknown third man was 26 year old Scott Watson. He was arrested and put on trial for the murders of Ben and Olivia. But was there enough evidence to find him guilty of these crimes?
