Think of times in the Bible when people were abandoned by so-called friends, (Job, Paul, Jesus) and think of times people remained loyal, even at the cost of their own reputation, comfort, or ease (Ruth, Jonathan, Barnabas). Loyalty is an almost forgotten virtue these days, but it is important to be loyal to brethren-because that loyalty is not just a reciprocal relationship among peers, but is loyalty to the Savior IN them.
