The Farmers Club Podcast

Episode 37 - A preview of the Simon Quilty podcast

Listen Later

Simon Quilty is, hands down, Australia's leading Red Meat and Livestock analyst. What separates Simon from others is his ability to take complex scenarios and relay them in simple terms. He has developed a delivery style that Farmers can understand, and when it's understood, Farmers can then make the necessary decisions they need to make within their own businesses.

Simon's parents were both doctors, and he was brought up in Shepparton in Northern Vic. So he never started with the Ag background. But he soon developed a love for the Red Meat and Livestock industry in his first job with the VFF (Victorian Farmers Federation).

He then worked for Louis Dreyfus, where he learned the craft of trading. That education put him on the path to becoming the best in his field.

He met his business partner, American Brett Stuart, and they got on so well that they decided to join forces and start Global Agritrends back in 2019. Today, they have over 2000 subscribers from a wide range of industries, all of whom want to know the goings on in the Red Meat industry

This interview is a good mix of getting to understand Simon, the things he has done in his career, and how he turns the information he gathers into predictions and outcomes we can all rely on. We also ask some questions around the markets that every Farmer needs to hear.

This is a fascinating interview of the highest order. I hope you enjoy.

End of message.
