Recently deceased Adam and Barbara Maitland are spirits in their home when the Deetzs' move in and start to make drastic changes to the life they were used to. They try to scare the family out themselves but quickly realize they have no idea what they are doing so they enlist the help of poltergeist Beetlejuice. From there everything goes downhill.
