She looked up from her phone and told me her friends were dead… and she was crying.

I wasn’t prepared for that moment, and I didn’t have the perfect words. This isn’t an episode with expert advice—this is just me, sitting in it, processing what went through my mind and what felt important in that moment.

Sometimes our kids bring us questions and emotions that feel too big… and all we can do is meet them where they are.
