The Rad Revival House is venturin' back to the good ol' 1970s with the classic Deep South crime thriller, WHITE LIGHTNING!
Starring a cast of familiar character actor faces and lead by the incomparable Burt Reynolds, WHITE LIGHTNING takes audiences on an up-close glimpse of the seamy underbelly of rural, booze-soaked Arkansas. Reynolds plays Gator McCluskey, a hardened ex-con who makes a deal with the feds to gather evidence against a crooked sheriff (the great Ned Beatty). Unbeknownst to the feds, Gator has a secret ulterior motive to nail the sheriff: the corrupt lawman is responsible for the murder of our hero's kid brother.
Joining our discussion is sharp cinephile Phillip Duke, host of the excellent cult film review podcast "Making Tarantino", as we analyze why this mid-70s crime film stands out from other, more famous good ol' boy chase films, and just what made Burt Reynolds so undeniably cool in his prime.
