Show Notes Episode 373: David and Eddie Had Had It Already By the Summer of 85

This week Host Dave Bledsoe climbs up on stage to do his famous karaoke version of Just A Gigolo (we hate to admit, it’s GOOD) only to bust the seam in the ass of pants. (Sadly, he just kept right on singing) On the show this week we tell you the tale of one great band and two massive egos: David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen. (You all know how THAT ended.)

Along the way we discover how Dave’s dad (our Dave, not the cool one) accidentally introduced a chubby pre-teen to rock and roll and regretted it ever after. (Just the first of many regrets the poor man would have over his son.) Then we dive right into the story of Edward and Alex Van Halen, two little Dutch Boys and one kid from Indianna with a sound system that made rock and roll history. (We really owe it all to the sound system) We give you the story of the rise of Van Halen and then we tell you how drugs, booze and towering egos brought it all crashing down.
