Episode 38 – Build Your Setting in Archivos with Dave Robison
Another in our series of Tools for your Author Toolbox, Dave Robison joins us today to talk about his experience with books and how he came to develop the Archivos platform for other fans and writers, and how many others are finding new and exciting ways to use it beyond its original scope.
Dave is a storyteller who has been captivated by tales and legends his entire life. He was drawn to the immersive storytelling of live theater at an early age, participating in community workshops and school productions, a passion that continued through high school and college. He was also drawn to role-playing games which led to a deep appreciation of speculative fiction, cutting his genre teeth on Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, and JRR Tolkien.

* Story setting is the bucket into which all your things are created and structured.
* Story elements go into the setting: characters, locations, events, etc.
* Each type of element has unique properties that help it contain your story setting (e.g. events have date fields).
* You can see a multi-dimensional view of the story you’re telling as a narrative network, even following different perspectives or plot elements.
* The setting is explored via the Story Web, the Living Map, and the Timeline
