Another week, another double stop on The Vault’s Haunted Roadtrip across America. This week we’re visiting the most haunted & paranormal locations in Missouri & Illinois… and it’s sending us behind bars to some of the country’s most infamous prisons. The first hot spot is the Old Joliet Prison in Joliet, IL with a reputation for having a distinct “scent of blood” around the premises to this day. Then we head over to the Missouri State Penitentiary, which was referred to by Time Magazine as “the most bloody 47 acres in America”. And we wrap things up with a visit to the location that inspired one of the most famous horror books and movies of all time… a seemingly normal colonial home in St. Louis, MI but is allegedly the real life location for the events from The Exorcist.
