This week we will be talking about the sister of a prominent Chihenne Chiricahua Apache chief. According to her brother, she was "his right hand... strong as a man, braver than most, and cunning in strategy... a shield to her people."

Lozen had many talents and gifts that made her a powerful and brave strategist and warrior. She had bravery that allowed her to take on responsibilities that seemed impossible. She had a love for her people and their land that came before any consideration of her personal well-being.
