This episode is part one of the interview with Dr Amber Qureshi and Dr Ron Dodzro who are both qualified Clinical Psychologists.
Dr. Ron Dodzro, is a Senior Clinical Psychologist at a charity focused on community violence prevention and doing direct clinical work at Juvenis in Brixton. Dr Amber Qureshi talks about her work as a specialist clinical psychologist in an NHS Youth Justice Service. They are both co founders of their community interest company, Psychologist the Streets Deserve.
The pair discuss how their combined experiences across approximately ten different placements during their training highlighted significant gaps in provision for people who experience community violence, leading them to set up their Community Interest Company (CIC). They reflect candidly on the long and often challenging road to qualifying as clinical psychologists.
