For episode 38 of "The Separation is in the Preparation" podcast I am joined by Wyatt Walsh. Wyatt's roles include: working as a deckhand and naturalist for Monterrey Bay Whale Watch, doing photo ID work for the California Killer Whale Project, freelance photography specializing in wildlife photos, and on top of all that getting ready to publish a case study on Northern Elephant Seals. Wyatt shares how he first got into photography, how his interests changed and evolved through both college and his undergraduate research experiences, as well as ways to responsibly photograph and enjoy nature. Wyatt has an immense respect for the animals and landscapes he both studies and photographs, so it was an honor to hear him discuss the importance of these places and organisms, as well as the best ways to preserve and conserve them.
