The adaptation of Timothy Zahn's 2018 novel, Thrawn: Aliances, begins its four-issue run with an amazingly robust first issue penned by Jody Houser and Zahn, with art by Pat Olliffe and Andrea Di Vito, colors by Rachelle Rosenberg and Letters by Travis Lanham. There's some whipsawing between the present and past and the action and cold logic flows freely.

In The High Republic Adventures Phase III #2 -- written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Harvey Tolibao and Nick Brokenshire, colored by Michael Atiyeh and lettered by Comicraft's Tyler Smith and Jimmy Betancourt -- brings us the story of Lula Talisola and how she became the warlord Tartak Vil. It's a riveting story that tugs at the heartstrings.
