I was very excited to attend this folk horror film set in the nineteenth century. The Damned follows the people of a small Icelandic fishing community during a particularly harsh winter. When a foreign ship sinks off the shore of the village, the inhabitants are faced with a moral quandary: should they assist the survivors even though they cannot afford to feed them? Strange things start happening in the small community not long after they make their decision.
