In this episode of Streamin' With a Purpose, we're talking to Lyneshia C. Johnson-Woodland. Lyneshia is a mother of two and was born and raised in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. She completed courses with Columbia School of Broadcasting in Virginia, as well as with IM4radio Broadcasting Network in Largo, Maryland. She's a former internet radio personality and producer of her own show, "The Boogie Spot with L Boogie" also known as Ms. L Boogie. Her exceptional talents with anything involving a mic keeps her popular for local events, such as serving as an emcee, being a comedian, and acting.
As a survivor of Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer, Lyneshia is retired after 31 years with Prince George's County Public School System, and she fulfills her civic duties in many roles in the community such as Vice-President of her neighborhood Citizens Association, member of Greater Saint John Cathedral, Marketing ministry, LEJ Mime, and dance ministry. Lyneshia also served as a mentor and volunteered with the G.E.M.S. (Girls Empowered to Meet Success) mentoring group, and Girls Scouts of America.
Lyneshia will be launching her new podcast "Conversations with Chante'" which will give support to others struggling with cancer and their caregivers.
She is currently a host of a movement, Black Women Connexting Communities, which can be found on www.wowuradio.net or www.blkwomencc.com. You can connect with Lyneshia on either of these platforms.
