.....and then he caught himself.  Of course, it would be Milah - his wife, since there were only two of them in this house and he smiled.  Then it slowly dawned on him that Milah was at the hospital and that he was very much alone at that moment.  Slowly, he stood up and crept towards the kitchen. 

 He only managed to take a few steps when heard the sound of something heavy and wet hitting the floor with a loud splat.  Groping for the switch near the doorway of the kitchen, he hit the lights and reeled with the shock of the sight before him.
