Danish explorer Peter Fruechen stood 6’7” tall and could put the fear of God into a man's heart with just a look. He killed a wolf or polar bear (depending on who you ask) with his bare hands, became a world-famous author, escaped the Nazis, cut off his own toes, and starred in an Oscar-winning film that was based on his own books.
