Here are some scriptures which relate to addictions and how God is the only one that can break an addiction.

"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." - 1 Corinthians 10:13

"In the same way, deacons must be well respected and have integrity. They must not be heavy drinkers or dishonest with money." - 1 Timothy 3:8

"Since an overseer manages God's household, he must be blameless - not overbearing, and not quick-tempered, not giving to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain." - Titus 1:7

"Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good." - Titus 2:3

"For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit." - Titus 3:3-5
