Gavin's family has always dealt with the strange and unexplainable. They call it their family curse, though Gavin thinks it's more of a blessing. His Family has the ability to see the dead and feel the presence of ghostly creatures. For years, Gavin's grandmother has been haunted by a tricky, clever demon that causes chaos in their lives and in one or two occasions has attempted to bring her to the plane of the dead. 

Now, Gavin worries that this curse might come back for him or his siblings' children someday. As he learns more about their family's past, he realizes that the paranormal isn't just history; it's part of their everyday lives.
