Hark, 'tis a new episode bestowed upon our beloved audience! This week we are talking about the 1999 adaptation of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" as we continue on Season 1: 90s Sci-Fi and Fantasy Films. This is definitely stretching the definition of "fantasy" but hey - there's fairies so deal with it. Also, wowzers, talk about an incredible cast! Kevin Kline, Michelle Pfeiffer, Rupert Everett, Christian Bale...the list goes on (and would not be complete without the one and only Stanley Tucci as the feisty trickster Puck). Most of us have probably read this play in high school but this film is worth a watch. It's a fresh take on a classic, an awesome spin on the beloved favorite. It's charming beyond measure in every way. We hope you enjoy our meandering discussion, talking about theater, costumes, our experience treading the boards in our youth (we love you Nancy!), and going on seemingly endless tangents about any single thing that crosses our little Gemini minds.
