This podcast is not a business related one, but it is a topic that effects 1 in 4 women. I am speaking to author Hallie Scott. Hallie is a marriage and family therapist who has been in practice for 20 years. She is a friend of mine who I walked with through the pregnancy and loss of her daughter Abby. As a friend, it was hard to navigate knowing what to say, so when she wrote this book, and I read it, it was so helpful to better understand her side.
Hallie is mom of an angel baby Abby who was born still. In her book Hope Beyond and Empty Cradle, Hallie normalizes the grief process and explains the isolation and wave of various emotions that can overwhelm a loss mom. While this is not the typical podcast topic I talk about, miscarriage and stillbirth is one that effects one in four women. So if you have not experienced a loss yourself, you likely know someone and I thought this conversation would encourage you to have an honest discussion with your friends who are going through this devastating kind of loss. Hallie’s book is available now everywhere books are sold. You can also find her on IG @HealingwithHallieMFT
