This week, I spoke to Maxine and Nadia who have founded 'Bridging the Gap: A Student Collective' at SOAS. We sat down and spoke about the attainment gap, race and the privilege of university. I also interviewed Abby Berhane who is trying to close the equality gap in the Engineering at Sussex University. We spoke about her experience as a woman in her academic career so far. These amazing women are doing a lot for their fields in order to give support to their peers, close the gap in attainment and create spaces for dialogue around inequality. Bridging the Gap:Addressing the racial attainment gap by using our individual skills & resources to challenge structures that uphold racial inequality in higher education.Instagram: @bridgingtgFacebook: @bridgingTG1Equality in Engineering:Equality in Engineering (EinE) is a society unique to the University of Sussex, addressing the diversity deficit in engineering. We believe it is important to create a new wave of diverse engineers and continue encouraging minorities in engineering.
