Episode 4: How We Got Our Baby to Sleep through the Night

Listen Later

We started sleep training our little one at nine months, and it has been a bittersweet journey. For his first nine months of life, every single night we held him in our arms, rocking him back and forth, dipping him up and down, snuggling him until he found his way into a comfortable nook of our arms to fall asleep in. Our hearts were heavy to start the sleep training process – would he ever fall asleep in our arms again? But we were ready to sleep more than a few hours (usually 2 to 3 hours) at a time. We recently hit the 10-month regression and he’s been pulling himself up to stand in his crib so it’s a whole new ball game now! But for a whole month, our little one slept 10-12 hours straight each night. In this episode, I share how we got our lil bubs to fall asleep independently, putting him down fully awake in his crib between 7-8PM, to waking up ~5:30-7AM, i.e., through the night.

I am so proud of our little boy for learning to sleep on his own!! I remember thinking how difficult those sleepless nights were. On us, and on him. But I wouldn’t trade those 9 months for anything <3
