Dr. Juliet Trail, the executive director of the Coincidence project, shares her experiences and insights on coincidence and synchronicity. She discusses how coincidence has been a fundamental part of her life, leading to unexpected connections and opportunities. Dr. Trail also introduces terms like synchronicity, serendipity, and simulapathy to describe different types of coincidences.

Juliet Trail, PhD, is an Award-winning Teacher, Nonprofit Leader, Public Speaker, and Contemplative Retreat Facilitator. Dr. Trail is the Founding Director of Courageous Compassion Connection (C3), offering contemplative practices to diverse peoples to cultivate wellbeing and compassionate action. She is also Executive Director of The Coincidence Project; her area of specialty is the connection between compassion, nature connection and coincidences. Dr. Trail currently serves as Executive Committee Chair of the Contemplative Higher Education Alliance for Research, Teaching and Services (C-HEARTS) and has served as Chair and Co-Chair of their annual conference. She has trained as a Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher and as a Vision Quest guide in a practice honoring the Lakota Sioux tradition. She builds on 20+ years experience in higher education where she served, among other roles, as the Director of Education for the UVA Contemplative Sciences Center. She has taught and presented on contemplation, with a focus on compassion and nature connection, across the US and in the UK, India, Brazil, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Rwanda. She is also a poet and musician, currently in the synthwave band Unheard Sirens Inc., making music about consciousness, claiming our full identities and positive social change.
