Hello Everyone. For this episode, I wanted to talk about John Carpenter's The Thing, which is a great Horror thriller that not only works in the areas of suspense and the violently grotesque, but it also manages to explore intellectual realms of ambiguity through the subtly introduced question pertaining to the nature of evil and where it emerges from.
The plot is very basic in that much like Carpenter's Halloween, it works as an invasion thriller. Although, instead of exploring a psychopathic entity of immortal evil, The Thing works to analyze and break down the Alien creature through the idea of monsterhood embedded within humanity and where it naturally comes from and how long before the next time it reveals itself within us. I hope you all enjoy this episode and find it much to your intellectual delight. Please like and subscribe and I'll see ya next time.
Sincerely,
Andres
