Founded in 1994, KYC is the largest and longest-standing organization in Ohio solely dedicated to serving and supporting queer youth. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, KYC works to provide a safer place, programming, and leadership opportunities so that youth can be free to explore who they are and empowered to become their confident, truest self. Red Jacket Roundtable is hosted by City Year Columbus and its executive director, Adero Robinson. Each podcast episode will feature a robust conversation featuring local community members and leaders as they discuss community and civic issues to include diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in our community. Additionally, this podcast will explore City Year successes, challenges, and intersectionality that impact young people we work with in the schools and in the AmeriCorps program.

Diverse teams of City Year AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms and the whole school. Schools that partner with City Year are up to 2-3 times more likely to improve in English and math assessments, and the more time students spend with AmeriCorps members, the more they improve on social, emotional and academic skills—skills that help students thrive in school and contribute to their community.
