As we come to the close of the annual 16 days of activism against women and children abuse campaign in South Africa, I reached to 2 monumental activists in fighting against gender-based violence.

Josina Machel, the daughter, and Graca Machel and Samora (stepdaughter to Nelson Mandela, is a globally recognised activist against GBV. Inspired by her own experience with gender-based violence, Josina started an organisation called Kukhuka to help women who are survivors of GBV.

Craig Wilkinson, the founder of Father A Nation has traveled the length and breadth of South Africa talking to men from all walks of life about GBV with the aim to make them better men. Craig works with big brands with a major reach like SAB's Carling Black Label on their flagship campaign - No Excuse.
