In this 4th episode, Alonzo Brooks body is taken to the Coroners office but, and which will come as a shock to absolutely no one who has listened to this case, the coroner does what might be the worst autopsy in history. And I think he does it intentionally after getting pressure by whomever is in the seat of authority to gain the last piece of the puzzle in getting this case closed. 

Despite Alonzo's body being seen by nearly 20 people who claim the body is in near pristine condition, the coroner claims that the body is so badly decomposed that he cannot determine the cause of death. And this by a doctor who has been summarily run out of New York on rails due to his VERY sketch past,  and ends up in the tiny town of LaCygne where it turns out, he will fit right in. 

And during his autopsy, not a shred of evidence that could be used in the prosecution of whomever killed Alonzo is taken. No scrapping's from under his fingernails, no hair samples were taken, his clothes weren't inspected and were then thrown away. Absolutely everything was done to help continue the cover up of who killed Alonzo and nothing was done according to the rule of law.
