Welcome to Monsters by the Minute!
For this, the first season of the show, we are taking a look at Universal Pictures 1932 classic, The Mummy, directed by Karl Freund and starring Boris Karloff, Zita Johann and David Manners.
We are nearing the halfway point of this season, and in this, episode four, we delve deeper into the myth of the Book of Thoth. In our biography section, we take a look at the second scribe mentioned in the last episode, John Balderston, who took the treatment for Calgliostro, and turned it into the story of Imhotep, The Mummy. Then, finally, we take a look a minutes twenty four through thirty two of the movie.
Ardeth Bey, in the closed museum, whispers a chant from the Book of Thoth, and a beautiful young socialite, Helen Grosvenor, hears the psychic call.
She calls a cab and is heading toward the museum. Toward Ardeth Bey. Toward her fate.
But first, we travel to ancient Egypt…
