This episode explores Mark 2:13–3:6, where Jesus repeatedly clashes with religious leaders—not for doing wrong, but for doing good in unexpected ways: calling the despised tax collector Levi to follow him, eating dinner with "sinners," refusing to make his disciples fast during what he calls a wedding celebration, letting his hungry followers pick grain on the Sabbath, and healing a man's withered hand on the holy day. Through these confrontations, Jesus teaches that he came as a doctor for the spiritually sick, that the Sabbath was made as a gift for people rather than a burden on them, and that doing good is always right regardless of religious technicalities—ultimately declaring himself "Lord of the Sabbath" and so enraging the Pharisees that they begin plotting to kill him.
