Although being a baby in the word of God is not a bad thing, it shows that you should be coming along to being able to digest the "meat" in the Bible; so while it's not inherently bad, it shows that there needs to be maturity in your spiritual life.

HOWEVER, being a babe in CHRIST is a completely different story than being a babe in the Bible, being a babe in Christ rather shows maturity instead of showing infancy.
