Secret #14: Video Sales Letter Funnels

I remember back in 2017 when I was scrolling through YouTube and saw an ad by Tai Lopez. I really like his offer, which is about changing our habits to succeed in the “4 pillars of life” - Love, Health, Wealth, and Happiness. This ad was set in his garage, or library, with his house in Beverly Hills. He talked about how the habits he cultivated made him successful - which was getting a home in the Hills and multiple sport cars. Eventually I clicked. I remember I landed on a page with just a video presentation, with him speaking about how he’s going to change my life through the 300+ habits and concepts he’s summarised in 67 days. This program is called The 67 Steps. When he finished presenting his points and asked for the order, the “Add The 67 Steps” button appeared magically! With that, I was pretty convinced, so I bought his program, including his upsell for a lightweight version of MBA.

From then on, I remember buying more courses from Tai, along with others such as Dean Graziosi, and eventually, dropshipping courses. Usually, the purchase isn’t straight-forward, neither is it low-ticket. It usually is around $100, usually less, but the upsells start from $197 and above. All in all, I probably spent at least $5000 buying all these courses from 2017 to 2020.

So, if you’re an expert and you can provide great value to your audience, this is the funnel you can sell to your audience. It’s called a Video Sales Letter Funnel. The funnel structure is very simple, it’s just 3 pages:

On page 1, you have your sales page. You place the video on top, a 2x2 matrix in the middle summarises the 3 main features, and the 4th box is the call to action. The bottom of the page is your Order button.

Page 2 is your upsell page. This is where you sell your higher ticket products. This can also be a bundle, a subscription, or whichever product your dream customer needs in his/her journey.

Page 3 is the thank you page, where it contains instructions to your other funnels up the value ladder.
