In this edition of Black Health 365, we proudly celebrate PRIDE and tackle important matters affecting the LGBTQIA+ community. Britt and Jackie had the privilege of interviewing Mental Health Advocate, Jarred Denzel Keller. His journey toward mental wellness and advocacy work is truly inspiring.

Jarred's use of social media to normalize mental health makes him an ideal guest, a symbol of hope, and a valuable resource. The discussion delves into critical topics such as combating depression in the LGBTQIA+ community, addressing anxiety, seeking professional help, and fostering personal growth. We are confident that this episode will inspire, empower, and encourage our community while raising awareness about the disparities faced by the LGBTQIA+ population.

Jarred Denzel Keller is a mental health advocate using his social media to share his journey and normalize the conversation surrounding mental health. Following the suicide of his friend, Jarred decided to become more vocal about his struggles with anxiety, depression, and suicide ideation to help those suffering in silence. Using his story to shine a light on what mental health looks like, Jarred shares his triumphs and failures regarding his mental health to remind others that “it’s ok to not be ok.”
