Exceptional painter Rachel Bess said she started off painting "pale, skinny goth girls and their sadness." Incidentally, that is also the name of my upcoming album.

Rachel invited me into her awesome home studio to talk about accepting sacrifices that come with an artist's life, the continuous struggle of assigning value to your work, and the sweet relief of the table saw.
