Paul Duerson, LookMovie, and Ray Nicholson, who shares his father Jack's disturbing smile and unpredictable actions, are introduced to us in the first few scenes. Ray is a certified psychopath. Even though Jack has never met Sofia, the pop star turned actress, he has been obsessed with her. After a quick and violent opening in which he assaults Sofia's powerful bodyguard, Bell, and performs a sloppy dance reminiscent of "Risky Business" at her home, the story jumps ahead to six months later.
