"Trump is the end result of a progressive move to take our party from the center to where it is today. Democrats are going to run head long into what they're seeing with a rejection of their progressive movement and a struggle with the center," Anthony Arnold.

"We have to have a reckoning in this country with our past. But, when you get only 44% of the voters to turn out, you kind of get the government you deserve. I am not one of those to put all of this at the foot of racism. Trump carried counties that Barack carried twice. It's something else and it's just mystifying," Dick Arnold.

"Germany is a really good example of this reckoning with our past. Because of everything that happened with the holocaust, Germans are very aware of their past. So there has been this constant reckoning with its past," Sean Haefeli.
