Secret #16: Product Launch Funnels
Every now and then, we get a front-row seat to see how Hollywood do a movie launch. They start by whetting our appetite with a trailer, where they reveal enough to make us curious, but not so much that we understand the entire plot. At the end of the trailer, they drop the date. If you’re really excited about the movie but it’s only coming out next year, you’ll probably go “I can’t wait to see this!”, or if it’s something you’re not interested in, you’ll go “meh, not for me.”
Then, as the movie draws nearer, the frequency of the ads increases, and it starts showing up on YouTube, TV commercials and billboards. People start buying tickets. Then the stars go on morning talkshows, the late-night talkshows, the press conferences — all to build up hype about the movie. This causes even more people to buy tickets. And finally, on the opening night, if the hype is real, word-of-mouth will continue to spread about the movie. This causes weekend sales to go up. On Monday, if the sales numbers are good, people usually keep buying tickets for months to come.
Whenever your business launches a new product, don’t you want to be able to build up as much buzz as Hollywood does? The good news is that you don’t need a huge marketing budget, all you need is a ClickFunnels account, and follow the Product Launch Funnel format.
On Page 1, you offer a free online workshop. This is very much like the lead funnels you learnt in Episode 34, Secret #8. Instead of the lead magnet being a PDF or a book, this time it’s your free workshop.
On Page 2, this is your “Wow and How” video page. Basically, you will “wow” them with an amazing idea, and then you will show them “how” others and yourself have been doing it using this concept. Don’t worry, we will cover the content here in depth in Book 2 Expert Secrets.
Page 3 is your “Transformational education” video page. You will let people watch you doing the actual “how” described in Page 2.
Page 4 is your “External forces” video page. It is an objection-rejection page. This is where you break external limiting beliefs, and deal with all the external roadblocks that will keep your audience from achieving success.
Page 5 is your offer page and order form. After the video from Page 4 has been released, you can release the 4th video where you make the offer. You’ll send them an email with a link to a simple page with you in the video making the offer and the order form below. As with all previous funnels, always include order bumps and upsells that will help get our customers to a higher lever of success.
