Brenda Jean Foley and Jaime Fox are representatives from the Bridge Initiative, which is dedicated to promoting gender parity in theatre. They say they still have to explain to men sometimes that that doesn't mean "women only." Which honestly makes me feel like maybe it should be.
Brenda and Jaime joined me at Urban Beans to discuss the importance of financial stability and pursuing grants for a new company, how women are ser against each other bu an artificial scarcity of roles, and the dreaded ethnically ambiguous casting call.
The Bridge will produce Honor Killing, the next in its Her Voice monthly reading series, on February 19th at 7pm in the ASU Kerr Cultural Center.
Shortly after, they have the 2nd annual Building Bridges Gala on February 24 at 6pm at Childsplay Campus in Tempe
