Do you have a holiday plan for your content?? How are you going to incorporate holiday themes without going off brand?
This week I sat down with Melissa Macfarlane Heidmiller of Define & Design Co. to talk holiday content planning for your biz.
The goal is to plan ahead so you can drip out the content over the holidays when you're too busy (or maybe tipsy) and don't have the time or energy to do it!
You need a framework: monthly or quarterly themes or goals and topics you want to cover so when you sit down to write you can bang it out.
It's fun to switch things up for the holiday season, but don't stray too far from your branding - just alter it slightly. Using tools like Canva and WordSwag can be great for customizing stock photos or creating your own images, or you can subscribe to stock image websites.
When it comes to seasonal content, it's important to stick to your brand voice (find out why you need a brand voice document!) and cover topics that are relevant to your brand rather than spewing the holidays onto your social platforms.
Tune in, grab Melissa's tips then get planning, and if you've already planned for the holidays, get started on January 2020!
Melissa lives in Kitchener, ON with her husband, son, and cat. She is a donut lover, tea drinker, and avid fiction reader.
