From lost and wandering world traveler to successful businessman and motivational trainer.
David T.S. Wood was not always the successful entrepreneur and motivator he is today. He grew up in England, moving often because of his father’s military career, and doing horribly in school. In fact, one of his teachers told him he was the most horrible student he’d ever had in class. David eventually took off on a 10 year world-traveling journey with barely any money and a backpack, figuring out how to live in each place. There’s been a lot of water under the bridge from there until now, and you can hear the whole story on this great episode of Crank It Up.
A failed public speaking gig that changed his life.
What David T.S. Wood sees as the turning point in his life was a terrible failure. He was asked to M.C. a wedding and took the role seriously. But when he got up in front of all those people he crashed and burned. It was one of the most humiliating experiences in his life. But it was that even that made him realize how much he needed to grow and how much he needed to change his life. Attending a conference shortly after that, the wedding debacle came back to him in a new way. He saw that he had the opportunity to change that failure into a lesson and become the best speaker possible – which is exactly what he did. Find out how David turned failure into success, on this episode.

What differentiates billionaires from the average Joe?
It’s not the money. The money is a product of the differences that already exist. The billionaire gets to where he is because he or she is willing to grow, learn, and take some risks in order to build something they will be proud of and enjoy later on. The average person is too content where they are. They are content to play the small game. The difference is obvious but not one that most people are willing to admit or take action on. What about you? Are you willing to take the steps that will make you the person who you need to be in order to become that successful person you dream of being? Find out more about what you can do to move in that direction by hearing David’s advice today.
What is meant by “lifestyle entrepreneur?”
Many people, even those who begin their own business, simply create a job for themselves. They may own the business but they are stuck behind a counter in a brick and mortar store. That’s not a lifestyle to enjoy, it’s a lifestyle that chains you to your business. A lifestyle entrepreneur is a person who creates a business that gives them the opportunity to have the lifestyle they truly want and are able to enjoy. They first decide what kind of life they want then figure out what kind of business or job will give them that life. It’s reverse from what most people think of when they build a business, but it’s the way that brings a life you enjoy. Hear more about how to build that kind of life, on this episode of Crank It Up.
