Today, host Chef Carla Contreras is joined by Alexis Durham, an herbalist, teacher, gardener, and avid lover of the herbal industry. Alexis is the Director of Education at the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), and in this episode, we discuss the importance of knowing your herbs and how the AHPA is supporting herbal businesses. 

Alexis’ love for the botanical world began as a child when she would gather mint leaves for her family’s daily tea ritual. Now, she channels her herbal passion through her work at AHPA with education initiatives and community support. It’s important that people are informed about herbs so they know about the herbs they’re putting in their body, for safety, and to develop a relationship with the plant. She then shares the role of AHPA in the herbal industry, how Tadin is involved with AHPA, and examples of recent AHPA educational events. One of the best ways to support AHPA’s great work, she says, is by supporting member businesses, like Tadin!
