Shaelyn's mom passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack in October of 2021, when Shaelyn was 25 years old. Her mom was her only parent, and Shaelyn was co-raised by her mom's parents (grandma and grandpa) for a long time. Shaelyn felt like she lost her mom twice.

Shaelyn's Take-Away: Every grief experience is different. While I'm grieving my mom, my grandparents are grieving a daughter. It's not going to look the same for everybody, but don't be hard on somebody just because they are not processing it the same way you are.
