The day has finally arrived. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, the first official Kingdom Hearts rhythm title is finally releasing to the public on a number of platforms. You’ve played the games, but the music has moved you more than you’d ever thought. You’re taken back to a time where you played the original Kingdom Hearts title and nostalgia fills your being. Or, maybe you’ve only played a few titles in the series, opting for the bigger named Kingdom Hearts original, Kingdom Hearts 2, and most recently Kingdom Hearts 3. You’ve skirted the outskirts of the series for fear of the unknown, rumors of a too wide/vast or convoluted story, or you’d like to finally get into the series and a musical endeavor sounds right up your alley? Whatever the case may be, with the release of Melody of Memory we are continuing our HPCritical Podcast series of “What is it” In which we bring on guests and discuss in detail what a series is.
Previously we’ve discussed the ins and outs of “What Is Fire Emblem,” and I’m more than excited to share part one of “What Is Kingdom Hearts.” This is a special episode as it features some prominent Kingdom Hearts fans including Chris Penwell and Cameron Hawkins, two prolific Kingdom Hearts fans joined by our very own Brandon Alvelo. We discuss what first introduced them to the series, what Kingdom Hearts is all about including its inception, and they answer all my questions about the series, we discuss characters, plot points, and what Kingdom Hearts is and what it means to them.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn about Kingdom Hearts, now’s your chance. Here’s the first part of “What Is Kingdom hearts” so please enjoy and learn along with me the story of the magical video game that is Kingdom Hearts. Listen, learn, and stick around for part two.
