In this podcast, my group and I discussed the artist Alexander Calder. Alexander Calder created a well-known mobile called “The Pittsburgh”, which a private collector eventually donated to the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. Allegheny County, now the owners of “The Pittsburgh”, had decided to paint over the original black and white mobile to match the official colors of the county, green and gold. As a group, we discussed whether it was ethically/morally right to change the originality of Calder’s art without advising him on the decision.
