In 2007 Social Entrepreneur Pete Leonard blended Passion, and Purpose to found Second Chance Coffee Co.; His passion is roasting and delivering the highest quality, organically grown, fairly-traded coffee in a sustainable supply chain from crop to cup. His purpose is to offer post-prison people the opportunity for a fresh start and a new life.
The company roasts under the brand name “I Have a Bean.” using a simple and unique model: They meticulously select beans from the top 1% of coffee in the world and roast and deliver the same day. They hire post-prison people and let them thrive in an environment that expects them to be great at what they do.
